final touches in engine bay
i just resprayed my engine bay. was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on wetsanding, buffing, and polishing the engine bay. or if there is anyway at all i can do it.
If you lay out the clear good enough you shouldn't have to buff your engine bay. should be able to make it look good enough.

mmmm I wouldn't screw with it. The engine bay has so many edges and corners and crap, that you could run the risk of breaking through even with a good amount of clear on top.
I think if you wanna make it look extra nice, you should get something that will protect the clear coat before you put everything back in. Alsa makes this thing called gleam which is supposed to act like a armor kinda stuff, donno, never used it.
How often do you expect to have the hood up? A clean engine bay is a clean engine bay, I personally never get critical about the paint detail in the bay.

When I shaved my engine bay on both my cars, I color sanded them and buffed them, you have to be VERY careful though. I start with 1000, then 1500 and end with 2000 grit and I buff by hand, yea it takes time...but I HATE orange peel what so ever.
