EF Paint project.
I posted some of this on another thread in the ef civic section but thought I should put something here in the paint section too.
First of all here is what I started with.

and this weekend (friday and sat) this is what I did
Well I spent about 8-10 hrs doing paint work between lastnight and today.
Last night I started with the mouldings, I had a few rough spots so had to sand down and prime them, then wait a couple hours before putinga coat of paint on them.
then got up this morning and got started on the fenders. Initially I was just going to jam the fenders, then decided that I might as well paint the whole thing. FINALLY all of the fenders are red and match the car perfectly.
here is were I started last night.

and this is how i left her last night. looks awsome, took alot of time for just a few mouldings.
then this morning this is what I started with.

about an 1/2 hour later this is how it looked.

second coat of paint on...

had to move to the front yard for some more space.

Almost back together-

and finally this is what I have now, I love it, the red mouldings look great(much better than the Black)

I will still need to sand and buff it to a high gloss, but Ill have to wait a couple days till the paint has had a chance to cure-
MPFI Is coming on wed. Ill have to find a time to do the swap.

Dang, that's rattle can? Sorry if I misread the thread but please PM me on how you did that so clean! I'm trying to see what my filler piece would look like canned up in red before I drop the money or decide to paint my car myself with a gun
. Good job this far, just fix the rear 1/4 rust!

And I agree, painted mouldings do look a lot cleaner

1989 civic si, here is a brief how to, PM me with questions and ill try to get back to you ASAP.
By the way your car Is SWEEEEET, i love the CF lip...
nice work so far, that filler/bumper header does need some paint though.
Initially if did the fenders in dupont single stage rattle can, then i re did it in base/Clear. for that I went to a local autobody supply shop, picked up some dupont base R-64-9 is the paint code if i rember right (the paint code is located in the drivers side door jam, right under the latch) i used chroma base maker and nason 2000 clear coat, much chaeper and lays out quite nicely. all materials for the front end and rear bumper paint project cost about 180.00 and that included 15.00 in good masking tape, get plenty as you will use alot to ensure paint doesnt go where you dont want it. I reccomend Dupont products but that is because i am most used to it, i have used ppg only 2 times and did not like it, just my opinion... if you are only doing a couple small pieces you would be best to just use rattle can due to the time to set up mix paint/clear, and or course clean the gun when finished. that is what i did on the mouldings and they turned out great...

i like the black and red contrast on this car. i know its CF, but anything dark would have given me the same thought.

Nice work.
Oh yeah, I would like to know wher to find a CF lip like the one TEKSTYLE has. If any one know (TEKSTYLE possibly) where i can find one and how much they are, and if they will fit the other ef bumpers or just the JDM ones. let me know.
