alright so i bought a car off this kid and the cf hood has cracks and is peeling in the clear. it is only through the first layer of clear tho, so i figured i could just use an air gun to blow off all the clear and re-shoot it. I was just curious as to what and how i could prep the hood for the clear to actually stick w/o damagin the cf, or whether anybody has refinished cf and could give me some pointers... an air gun to blow off the clear? WTF You need to post some pics so I can see how bad the hood really is before I will even give you pointers

 

i dont have any pics on hand.. but it is cracking and peeling so bad that i can literally rub the clear with my hand and it will flake up and come off

 

ya powerwash off what you can then wet sand the entire thing with some 600 grit till its smooth
