Bodywork Gurus help!!! rust!! :-(
hi guys, so i got my car all sanded down, and i need some advice on what i should do with these rust holes. whats the best and easiest fix?

thanks

thanks
well none of us want to hear it but cutting and replacing the area around the rust hole with fresh meter is the only right way to do it. Welding of panel bonding teh area.
If you want to do a quick hack job (which is how I roll
) grind back the area that has reusted thru and treat with rust inhibitor and seal the area (POR15 fan here). Now the part that will make the experts on here cringe - you can use fiberglass cloth and resin (or POR15 as the resin) and splat a piece over the hole - better yet if you can do it from behind go for it repeat until a ridget surface has formed (couple layers). Fill with your favorite body filler, sand untill desired consistancy is reached, prime, sand and paint.

actually yeah, that's one way to do it that would work. it's not the way i would choose. i would weld in the new pieces, but fiberglass works for a quick fix. the important thing is to get rid of the rust completely so you're sure it won't come back.
I'm also in the process or tearing down my CRX to fix any and all rust spots. The thing I'm not quite sure about is how exactly to weld in new metal. I know how to weld but am I to crimp the edges of the metal parts to create an overlap for welding or can I just just weld them edge to edge. Thanks in advance.
i'd just say replace the panels. its not cheap, but it'll look good. and remember...CORROSION PROTECTION, CORROSION PROTECTION, CORROSION PROTECTION!!! otherwise it'll come right back sooner than you know.
