is there any reference for body gaps. like example the door gap and fender, and fender with hood gaps. is this done by eye, or is there an actual spacing per part?

The reason I ask is some people just slap body panels on and go with it. It looks like ****. Some people eye ball it, and still looks like ****. So I want to know if there is some kind of factory data on the subject?

 

Good question. I have no idea how to research that. Maybe stop by a car lot tonight with a ruler lol

 

There is a tool for it. Mine is just a little plastic one with a bunch of edges on it in various sizes in milimeters. I know BMW has a spec for pretty much every gap, not sure about some other mfgs.
