Anyone work at Maaco??
well they called me for an interview today so im kinda excited to see what they are about.. i wonder how they pay and if the test or not
lol
lol
My painter worked there when he first came to America from Hungary. They worked him like a dog but he liked it cause he had alot of overtime wich meant more money for him. They pay less than a regular shop and rush you on all the repairs. Get ready to work on over 7 cars a day. If he worked at a collision shop doing the amount of work he did there, he would have made like 150,000 a year LOL.
They don't do any testing I think. They will show you how to prep and tape but don't expect it to be indepth training.
I feel bad for the guys that work there. Alot of them are just looking for a job in the auto body industry and are straight out of highschool. When they go to get a job at a real shop they expect it to be the same. Just remember that if you are using this as your stepping stone that nothing you do there is going to be the same as when you do it in another shop. You can get a decent learning experiance from them but it is nothing in comparison to what you get out in the real field.
Good luck on your interview.

Couldn't of said it better. I actually work there as a painter and it is very tiring. They do work you like a machine and are never satisfied with the amount of cars you put out. I usually do 7 aday and they want more. I am gonna find somewhere else to paint, coming from school in Savannah G.A, it was totally different. No A/C, none of the nice things like back at school

well the interview went good.. met a few of the workers and everyone seemed really cool.. if they try and throw $8 at me i wont even bother going back. They asked me how much i wanted... i said at least $15 :D doubt they will offer me that but we will see... Yeah im just looking for experience other than school and my garage so we will see how it goes. Its hard to get hired in a shop unless your certified and im not there just yet.
