Default Advice for fixing dent

Had this at purchase from used dealer. Not too noticeable from a decent distance.
How can I repair the dent and fix the paint myself? Or is this a body shop job?

Thanks.

WOW!

Don't do this!

That is asking for failure, silver is one of the harder colors to blend nicely due to the flop, metallic control of it. Spray gan and cleaning with WATER will not help you. You need to massage it out with either a stud gun or a dolly and hammer. Then skim filler over it, feather it, prime, block, prime again, block with 600 wet, then shoot sealer or just base and clear over it. You might want to clear the whole panel instead of blending that one spot.

Lol at the guy saying to put bondo in it. That's a great idea lets pack in 2" of bondo and then spray paint our car. What is this world coming to. I see this on so many cars. Yes bondo is good but not to shove it in a hole, its great for fixing lil dings or smoothing out once you beat out most of the dent.

first off for the advice. i have worked in a autobody shop and it doesnt sound like you or acouple of the guys writing in on this post have the skills or patience to do this job right. so take it to a body shop have them do it or live with the dent. it doesnt look that bad at all its near a hinge it looks like in the picture. second off bondo isnt that bad of a idea. take into acount how big the dent is and no its not 2 inchs deep 4gen5thtime take into acount the hinge. yeah what is this world coming to.... stop posting... that dent is a tiny dent compared to half the stuff i have worked on. what you do is pop the dent or pull it. then start molding it. trust me its tiny. but the color code of the car makes it more professional then amateur

so my advice take it to a autobody shop. expect a price around 200 thou. good luck

Dont tell someone not to use bondo. If done correctly it will last the life of the car. What do you think bodyshops do when you have a dent? They get it as straight as possible then use bondo.
