my e30 project....
So sick. There's an E30 coupe like yours for sale locally, and even though I've drove by it a few times now, I haven't stopped by the shop to see it's condition, miles, price, etc.
How are they, reliability wise? I know BMW's have expensive maintenance (or what I've heard..), but are they really that expensive to maintain?

They're not man, if you can do most of your work, they're pretty normal just like any other car. The key is previous maitenance and preventive maitenance. We got 2 e36 325's and a e30 325is, and they're very realiable. I've done everything to my e36 tho, cuz the Previous owner didn't take care of it, but i saved litetarly thousands doing my own work. e30's are rock solid, and cheap parts too.
Paint and body work, dump it on gc's with a nice set of 16x8 or 9 in the rear and 16x6.5 or 7 upfront. I would love to swap a e39 m5 motor into it, but realistically I'll more that likely swap a s50 into it. I really like the clean oem looks of these cars, so it'll have oem lip and skirts. The only thing I want aftermarket will be a carbon hood and carbon trunk. Ummm thats really about it for now... But this project won't start until my eg sedan is near completion....
