Default Coilover issues.

Working on my buddies 2000 rs impreza and the suspension is too way to stiff so WE are lowering the purch, but the the highest purch ring wont spin down the threads..Its just spinning the whole thing. Its kind of hard to explain without demonstrating. But if anyone knows what I mean please reply thanks.

I had this problem, the actual threaded sleeve is spinning right?

I just used a pipe wrench on the lowest part and used a huge set of pliers
