2004 Honda Odyssey - strange starter issue
I own a 2004 Honda Odyssey with around 200,000 miles on it.
A couple of weeks ago my wife got in to start it, & it wouldn't start, but the starter began "whirring". It being an unfamiliar sound, she turned the van off entirely, & removed the key. Yet, the starter kept right on whirring! I ran outside, popped the hood, & had to disconnect the battery. Even now, the second I reconnect the battery, the starter starts to whir like a tiny, radio controlled helicopter. At first I thought it might BE a bad starter, but then I remembered that I replace the started barely over a year ago.
Any ideas? I'm stumped.
Thanks

replace the starter with one of better quality. 99% chance its bad. 1% chance theres a wrench or other metal object that fell on it when she tried starting it and welded itsself to the terminals on the solenoid bridging the connection
