Default Modified exhaust ticket

I got a modified exhaust ticket and the cop checked "traffic". How is this a moving violation? I don't get it.

Kent police, second ticket in three months. The cop has to be wrong. I got two of them in 1999 and those never went on my record.

Skunk2 with skunk2 test pipe and silencer. Not loud at all.

i went so sykart like a year ago and stopped off at that 7/11 to pick up a slurpee and i came outside and a cop was standing next to my car telling me i had to leave right away

guess it was because people meet there for the races but it was like 4pm in the afternoon fully light outside

cop was totally a d-bag about it too

just throw your stock muffler on and try to get it dismissed, then put your skunk2 back on

i got a ticket last year for the same thing, i contested it, i told the judge that it was a replacement exhaust an there was nothing modified about it, it still retains a cat a resonator and a muffler it was also bought an installed in a WA shop an i also brought an inspection sheet from my shop saying there are no exhaust leaks either.

basically the modified exhaust rule states that you cannot modify ur exhaust in any fashion that will lead to an overall increase in db. but the way the law was written basically allows alot of argument for wat is modified and wat can be installed as a replacement.

i was in court for all of 5 min before it got dismissed, i just kept poking holes at the judges rebuttals and the cop didnt leave any good notes for the judge.
the cop that gave me the ticket actually pulled me over 5 days later for the same thing tellin me hes gonna see me in court and the next ticket will be even more yada yada yada, screw that! dismissed! never been pulled over for it since lol

Hmm, the BC Spec II looks like jsut a pipe huh? No wonder. Either way, cops jsut like to pull honda's over. Plenty of other cars and/or bikes with modified exhaust and they dont care

I live in Bothell, but Mill Creek is right down the road from me. When I had my MR2 Mill Creek cop pulled me over and said I had a modified exhaust (Big Can, was on it when I bought it) But actually had an exhaust leak at the flex pipe.

I told him that, and still wrote me a ticket. Got a factory exhaust, took it to court, as I have pics and **** of the factory one... Judge says, "Did you fix it?"

I said yeah, here's proof. She goes, "No need, Have a great day" So mine got dropped.

So pretty much, it all depends on the Judge.

But ya either way, cops love to **** with ANYONE that owns a Honda. But I just dont understand why bust us for an exhaust when choppers and bikes roll around all the time and are 20x's as loud as a standard aftermarket Honda exhaust. Or any car for that matter. I'm running stock exhaust, but might change to Performance exhaust with very little loudness.

For all i know, when you switch out to a AFtermarket exhaust. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT Sell your oem catback. Jsut in case you get a ticket, you can swap your stock one in and tell the judge you fixed it.

Yep, thats what I'll be doing, is keeping my factory one.

Of all the cars I've had in the past, they came with exhaust on it, and no factory.
