ok so tonight around 1230 i come out of walmart and see some punk *** kid trying to reach his hand in my car (i left the window slightly cracked to keep it from frosting) and i yell at him as he trys to pull his hand out i grab him by the throat and slam him against the car next to me as an officer comes behind me and throws me against the car putting me in cuffs and then the kid... i was furios and gave the cop **** until finally he asked for my insurance card (for the broken window the kids head hit) and let me go... now im gonna let this be because some people think i was a little aggressive. i wanted to see what you guys think. because if your stupid enough to try and steal my ****. your good as dead. and im sure the guys on here that have stolen cars feel the same now.

 

You lost your composure, other than that you were fine.

You should have calmly subdued him until the officer arrived. Even then you may be cuffed and questioned (duh, cop has a job to do as well). If your intent was to harm the criminal, you............were...........wrong........period.

Officer let you go, so what exactly are you complaining about?

 

Laying the smack down part was perfectly fine. I'm sure the kid definitely knew what the Rock was cookin'

i would have done the same thing. but i would not have gave the cop **** . giving a cop attitude is a loose loose situation. what happen with the kid trying to get in your car? i was at that meet last night alot of young kids burning the spot..

 

I would have done the same thing, other than giving the cop ****. Especially if it was my Prelude; gots to protect my Mugen goodies.

i see no wrong. everyone of my friends who has caught someone breakin into their car did the same thing, and i can say i would do that too if i caught someone one breaking into mine

Well you did well IMO, I think its great you got him by the throat but did the window break atleast because his head smacked into it or was it from his body?

 

you should have known better than to gone to a ghetto walmart meet.

 

the only wrong I'd say you did, was slamming him into another car and breaking their window.that person is now going to come out to a broken window. And I could have understood if the cop gave you a fine for distruction of property. Next time just beat the **** out of him on the ground and now messing up someone elses car in the process.

ahahah will do. yea his head broke the glass, kinda freaked me out i thought i would just hit his head against the window and it wouldnt break. you ever try and break one with your hand? it doesnt work to well.

 

Exactly why it's tempered glass. It shouldn't break when hitting the center area with relatively hard force. Even a hammer can bounce right off the middle. I've seen a coupe "tough guys" try and punch through them, looked pretty moronic.

I'll have to echo what others have said. I agree you were in the right to be mad and do something, but in the heat of the moment you were being destructive to others property which is just as bad as what he was doing. And also, that's the Officer's job. So for the safety of himself, and others, the aggressor has to be handcuffed.

I don't think you were wrong in any way to be pissed about someone trying to steal something out of your personal car, discretion and composure is the key.

 

well I hope everyone learned a valuable lesson from this situation? NEVER leave your window open, even the slightest crack at walmart, or any area in everett lol. Our cars are easily broken into with the window all the way up.

I dont see any wrong doing, I would have done the same thing.

The kid deseverd what he got, they need to be taught a lesson young.

You need to think about it, was he going to steal a cd player or the whole car? You need to protect your car/money. However you need to be carfull, assulting a minor could get you in a lot of trouble.

 

I think anyone stealing should get a good asswhooping period. Good job OP.
