I am doing all the body work myself. It is rusted right to H3LL. like door jams have rust in them. So I am making the inner structure and welding to whatever is left for decent metal. then bough a patch panal for the rear part and have to make the part from where the patch stops to the door. Lot of work but should look good. I think I migh delete the moldings on the sides. It is going back to the Paridice grean blue pear. My friend who is spraying it works at a small body shop but they do some SICK work. He does not do alot of the painting just prep work. He has done some although. I wouldent want anyone else painting it though just becues we have been friends so long and he has helped me with my car from the time I got it but I also help him ( he drives a Ford Escort zx2).

Sounds like a good bit of work! You should take before/during/after shots! I once had a CRX that was rusted to hell. Rocker panels, quarter panels, engine bay, brakes, fenders, etc etc... thats basically when I discovered I would never again trust myself doing my own body work without being taught first.

But thumbs up for you! Good luck!

I will take some pics. The only reason I can trust myself is becues he will not spray it untill it is great body work. he knows how picky I am and He knows i would get pissed if it comes out shitty.

I don't know man, if I were going to go this route I think I would have to go all out show car. Although, about a year ago there was 2 240's on the cover of import tuner that were white, and had a tsunami painting airbrushed on the hood. That looked really amazing, and it upped the value of the car by insane amounts.
Another thing that I think would be cool is if you airbrushed some kind of grafitti along the side of the car. But only really faintly, so like you have a black car, air brush it dark grey so you can only see it in certain lighting angles.

You think your buddies would hook-up another h-ter? My car was pretty faded/oxidized and I buffed it, came out amazing (comparing it to where it was) But the paing is definitely still faded in spots. Now its just a shiny fade haha.

Heres the Sol:

Before a good buff:

After a good buff:

The Eye of the Tiger:

Going to be putting these on soon:

He's [freak]ing serious:

So I almost lost the Sol friday night. I was driving down to bangor from Orono and someone in a red eg hatch, lowered, and on 17-18"s wanted to race. I wasn't going to but figured why the hell not, its just a little water on the roads. BIG mistake. With the wet roads, and my stock steelies and cheap radials, as soon as I downshifted and gave it a little gas I lost traction and the front end started floating side to side. And I seriously mean floating side to side, the people behind us slowed way down as my front end was basically floating across the whole lane. I did my best to get back control of the car, and the hatch, which probably had a D in it slowly pulled away. Lets just say I'll never do that again, and let it be a lesson to everyone else not to do that stupid, risky ****.
