Default tyc headlights worth it?

i really want to get better light output, and yes, i know a hid retro fit would be great, but i dont have $400 for parts, but i can get tyc projector headlights for about $200, btw its going on a 96 civic hatch, DD, otherwise i was thinking of just getting some phillips xtreme bulbs, but the plastic on my headlights are fading really bad and i just sanded them down about a year ago because they were really bad, and im not going to get the egay projectors, unless i might do a retro in a year or so, then it would be much easier than the halogen retro, and i wouldnt have to get bi-zenons, also i was wondering if anyone knew what size lights the TYCs take, both high and low

I had TYC Black housing on my RSX.

I'm not great on the fit. Though, the RSX had a weird shape... Anyways, The lens are good quality, they give out QUALITY bulbs. Though the materials they used for the housing could been better. It feels soft and not sturdy. But it's what you pay for right?

In all, if you want a certain look, without spending too much money for the real deal, TYC is pretty awesome. I say it's worth it.

I have a 97 civic and use the TYC headlights. They use an H1 bulbs for both the high and low beam. I never actually tried them with the halogen bulbs as I put HIDs into them as soon as I received them.

as you can see the cut off is "okay"

but the alignment and hot spots are not acceptable.

maybe with a little more tweaking you can get the alignment correct.. but that won't get rid of the hotspots...

I had very different results than denshu who's picture that is above. Here is how I made out with my TYC's with the HID kit we sell. A little more aligning and it would be pretty darn good.

I can't quite produce that right now, my car is a little taken apart. By the time I could get a picture like that you would probably forget. But I'll make a note and get a picture of that for ya in the future.

I can't quite move the car right now, but if you want I can just take pictures of it where it sits and show you that the cut off is the same as the picture above. Not quite the wall shot you wanted, but just to show you that that is what my TYC's produce with our HID kit

I had tried the projectors with halogens and wasnt very impressed with the light output with a set of hella's. Although they dont look bad in the pic with HID

^^^ as far as cleaning the headlights go i have done it both the sanding way and the clay bar way, and the clay bar does a far better job and it cost 20 bucks at autozone, same exact results as sanding but 1/4 of the effort because you can leave the headlights on the car it makes a HUGE difference on light out put on that gen civics
