Default Turn signal failure

My wife bought some aftermarket dark headlamp assemblies for our 01 civic ex. The wire harness for the hi/low matches the car, but the turn signal harnesses don't match.

I have tried installing the new assembly, and since the hi/low have matching harnesses, they function. Because the turn signal harnesses don't match, I had to pull the bulb and harness from the original assembly and put it into the new housing. The turn signals and hazards still don't work. at all.

Can I splice in my own wire harness?

why don't the hazards work?

You can either-

a) Cut the connectors off and straight wire it.

b) Get some generic connectors.

With the a option you won't be able to pull out the harness when pulling the headlight assembly. While the b option requires connectors, pins, a crimper and the knowledge of how to do it correctly (tons of vids on youtube).

It is always safer to not alter anything on the car side . if you can do the work on the aftermarket side, i would go with that option.

Pictures can help with these threads to help guide you through the work .
