Default running light issue

I was installing my fog lights in my car to my passenger side and was trying to tap the fog lights into the running lights. Everything worked fine until i hooked up the ground to the existing harness that connected to the turn signal bulb. The problem is my Running lights dont work, the turn signal still works, i tried different bulbs, all my fuses are good, is there any other relays that i am looking over or anything at all because i can't figure it out, i search and i didn't find the answer i was looking for. please let me know if you have information.
thanks for your help in advance

Are you powering your foglights off your battery and switching them with a relay connected to your running lights? That's the safest way to do it.
