New Headlights Arrived.......Question!?!?
There's no type of adaptor harness or anything like that. All the spots where the bulbs go are hollowed out. So do the factory bulbs plug right into these spots??....the only wires coming out of the housing are a red and a black wire....and I have no idea what they are for. And the only other thing that came with the setup is a turn signal bulb for each headlamp.
Did I get everything I was supposed to get with this assembly?
There were no instructions that came with it and I can't contact them until tomorrow at 11AM (my time). Help me out guys. Thanx!
Here's a couple quick pics including the red and black wire I was mentioning..........

Only way to find out if the bulbs fit is to test them, most headlight units that change the OE bulbs have some form of plug n play harness and at the worst have the bulbs that work with the headlight and bare wires....
The black n red wires should be for the led's.
EDIT:
Just check on ebay (would have been nice if you said it was an 06-07 civic) and the units where I could see the lenses clearly in the pictures (same unit as what you have) have HB4 and HB3 imprinted in the lens infront of the lights. HB4 is 9006 and HB3 is 9005 which Sylvania's fitment guide says fits your car so YES the headlights should just twist into the new headlights.

The two wires are for the leds...
The easy way is to wire into your parking light.
The better way...
1. Find your DRL fuse, unplug it.
2. Find your Ignition wire, tap into it.
3. Connect your tapped ignition wire to a relay's coil
4. Ground the relay coil, and wire the common to ground
5. Run a fused wire from the battery positive to the led positive (red)
6. Ground the leds to the relay's n/o terminal
This is so you can have the leds are your drl, reduces the electrical load on the system.
IMO those things are useless, cause the OEM halogen reflectors output a significant amount of light with OEM halogen bulbs.
Unless you are going to retro those housing, it was a waste of money.

By "retro" do you mean adding an HID conversion?
If so then that's exactly what I had planned on doing from the start since i'm pretty sure the light output from a stock halogen bulb will probably be less on this setup than on the OEM setup.
The only reason I got these lights was because I had a bunch of tiny rock chips on my factory ones from highway travel over time and it was starting to look ugly. So i just decided to try something new.
Will a good quality HID conversion damage the housing?

it depends, my OEM EG lights sucked even compared to aftermarket halogen projectors. (they both sucked compared to my hid retrofit)

1) by retro, i'm pretty sure he meant doing an HID retrofit (putting OEM HID parts into your headlight housing) do NOT use a plug-n-play kit. HID kits are garbage, don't waste your time and money.
2) HID's usually run the same or cooler than halogen bulbs. they consume less power too @35watts (vs 55watts).

When you mention putting OEM HID parts into the headlight housing, what do you mean exactly? Why wouldn't the projector that is in there already work? Also, what would be wrong with a pnp HID kit in the projector housing? What exactly is wrong with these kits that makes them garbage?

Because a projector designed for a halogen bulb will suck with a HID capsule in there, just as a HID projector with a halogen bulb would suck. The amount of light differs, and the projector needs to be designed for the light used.

Cheap components. Poor fitment with rebased capsules. Useless and dangerous colors. Etc...

by OEM HID parts into your headlight housing, i mean just that. you buy HID projectors that came from a car with HIDs from the factory. some examples are: TSX, FX, TT, A4, E46, etc. also, OEM HID ballasts tend to be more reliable than aftermarket ones (and come equipped with the standard d2s plug)
the key difference between HID and halogen projectors is the spread. because HID are so much more intense, the reflectors spread the light very wide (which is why HID's light up the road so much more than halogens). halogens tend to be more focused in front of the car.
if you use HIDs in a halogen projector the light will be too intense and will have severe hot spots in the beam pattern. (it will become uncomfortable on your eyes to have to adjust between darker and brighter spots on the the road). this will also tend to increase the amount of glare (unwanted light above the cutoff) for oncoming drivers.
using halogens in an HID projector will be like the lights aren't even on. think of a flashlight with a dying battery. because HID projectors spread the light really wide, the halogen bulbs aren't intense enough to light up the road.

OEM FG/FA (2006+ Civics) have really nice halogen reflectors, they even have a "sharp-ish" cut-off because of their design... but they don't do as well with pnp hid kits as the last gen (2003-2007) accord reflectors did... [i've seen a few with pnp-hid kits, the cut offs are weird, one of them will always go up way too much and looks like this -> (---- /)]
as in "retro", everyone here got it right... pretty much..
those headlights make it easier to install OEM HID projectors, such as ones from a tsx, or bmw, etc... because you don't have to make a shroud... also the fabrication of the bracketing of the projector, isn't as complicated.
without a OEM HID projector retrofit, those things are useless, they normally have a crappy halogen projector, that has poor output... normally...
see how they fair with the oem bulb... if you get a nice cutoff, and a wide and further ligiting than the oem reflector... it was worth it, if not.. throwing in a pnp-hid kit won't help you.

that's why i said it depends... yes, a lot of oem halogen reflectors/projectors are MUCH better than aftermarket ones. but in my experience, OEM EG fluted lens halogen reflectors SUCK, even compared to crappy aftermarket halogen projectors.
as for retrofitting, every case has its challenges. it all depends on the housing and the HID projectors you're using. sometime you need shrouds, sometimes you don't. regardless you don't have to MAKE your own shrouds. often times you can fine OEM shrouds that will fit and do the job.
