Default Instrument Cluster Needles?

Hey guys, so im in the process of revamping my Cluster Led's and brighting things up. Was wondering how I can remove the needles SAFELY and paint them orange without screwing them up when they go back in. Whats the safe process?

you can't do that to all the needles. Pretty much the only needles you can remove w/o damaging them are the RPM and MPH ones. I broke off the ones for my temperature gauge so I would know.

if you're trying to brighten things up, painting the needles is the worst idea because light goes into them so you can see where they are at night, if you put a coat of paint over the top of them, it will be harder to see them

good point.. if the guy wants to do this, maybe he should get luminescent paint for it.
