Re: How bad is this glare
if your headlight housings utilize H4 bulbs, you might be able to get some casper shields.
i have no experience with them but i've heard lots of people use them to help reduce the upwards glare that you get with reflector housings like yours.
if you got H4 headlights, might be good to look into 'em! a little expensive for $25 each though.
hopefully someone who has experience with the casper shields can chime in

Re: How bad is this glare
well shoot..
the only other thing i can think of to minimize glare is to make sure your headlight's lenses are SUPER clean and clear. if they are fogged up or yellowed or just plain have dirt on them it will cause glare.
my headlight lenses are a tiny bit dull and causes a lot of light to appear above my cutoff line with my pnp kit. but i just take some meguiars Plastix headlight cleaner to make them clear again and it really helps get rid of glare and light appearing above the cutoff.

You've been reading a little too much of Daniel Stern Lighting.
Seems like a lot of the retrofit HID guys love to bash on PnP kits. Yeah, PnP is not perfect but it's also not as bad as you make it seem.
I don't want to come off as a hater We're both 02's here, gotta have respect....

I guess that makes me 2nd in line. Don't Infinitis have an HID option, with an awesome high beam projector that looks cool and functions well?

Re: How bad is this glare
I realized i actually had the bulbs in crooked. Didn't know I have to twist them to lock in place, ill see if the cutoff has changed at all...
e46civic, Yes there are optional HID's.
The first option is JDM, but not easy to find cause i dont speak Japanese and nobody imports them it would be direct bolt in
then theres the newer generation USDM projectors, which can be custom fitted by just cutting the grill, but they sell for $500 EACH SIDE !!!! (junkyard pricing)

Re: How bad is this glare
Sorry I didnt realize you had the 1st gen. Even though its a reflector, it will still not have the glare the stock halogens do, and $500 apiece is too much. Quite awhile ago I lost a bid on ebay for 3 complete headlights for $150( I just wanted the ballasts)! I didnt know there were JDM versions, I actually think its kind of gaudy.

UPDATE
i have been high beamed twice so far - both times i turned on the high beams as a reply, and lit up the other car like daylight!!! Its so funny to see the expressions on the peoples faces
both times was on narrow straight roads where the oncoming traffic is headed straight for you
but yeah you guys were right about PnP! i thought i was so smart!
