This is weird to say the least. Trying to replace the low beam headlamps in a 97 Accord V6. Sylvania parts indicate the 9006 in the Silverstar series. The drivers side bulb will not fit. Tried for one hour. I checked the measurements from the older Stanley HB3 vs the Sylvania and there is a 1/8” difference in the barrel diameter which will not insert into the headlight housing. Does anyone know what bulbs will correctly fit? This is crazy and the bulb manufacturers do not list measurements.
The OEM bulb for the low beam suppose to be a HB4 bulb (9006 equivalent).
If the bulb you pulled out as a HB3 bulb, that is equivalent to a 9005 bulb. Was the headlight assembly replaced before? If so, it could be an aftermarket that did not directly match OEM assembly.
Both Headlight assemblies are Stanley 001-6677. I’m thinking
it’s just Sylvania but 1/8” to 3/32nd difference in the base diameter is substantial between the two different bulbs and the housing.
