Default good HID kit/headlight combo?

i want to run some HID's in my newly aquired 96 civic but i was wondering what headlights to buy (that wouldnt look ricey) unless my stock headlights could handle a kit without having excessive amounts of glare?

thanks

What you are looking for doesn't exist. HID kits might look cool but you will have horrible glare. Aftermarket projector headlights might have less glare with a kit in them but they will still be bad. If light output is you main concern do a retrofit with actual HID projectors, oem ballasts, and 4300k d2s bulbs. If all you want is the look, then I'm glad I'm not in Connecticut so I won't be blinded by your ricer lights.

This thread is a step by step for an EG with aftermarket headlights. The idea is the same the headlight is just shaped differently. The only bad thing with what this guy did is that he doesn't have a high beam. They make projectors that have both high and low beam in them. They are called bi-xenon. A good cheap bi-xenon projector is from the Infiniti FX. I picked up a set for $85 shipped a while back. A set of ballasts can be had for about $100 and bulbs range between $20 for a used set and $75 for a new set. There is a lot more information on this site.

Go to the forums and read the HID University section. There is more information on there than you could ever read. If you search for EK or EM civic retrofit. I'm sure several step by steps will pop up. There is also a big classified section on here where you can find anything HID.
