my problem is my 97 honda civic ex sedan is having issue with electrical. The headlights would brighten and than dims.. usually when i accelerates it brighten up. i'm thinking its the alternator but not to sure. could it be something else? i mean my airconditioner does the same thing too, it gets stronger when i accelerates, than when i just cruise its back to normal?

 

seems like the ballasts are not getting enough power or there not able to keep it at a consistent level.

 

True, if he has HID's installed in his headlights, regular holagen bulbs don't have ballasts. If he doesn't then it does sound like an alternator problem.

 

most likely alternator do to the fact that ur blower motor gets stronger when u accelerate...the alternator is spinning faster and putting in more of a charge therefore putting more power to the electrical supplies...use a multimeter and check the battery with car running u should put out a little over 14 volts or close to 14 volts if u are then alternator may not be the problem
