I had this problem in my old DA. Brake lights worked just fine, then one day I was driving with my buddies and they said that my brake lights were staying on constantly. Moment i put keys in and turned the key all my brake lights were on. None of my friends could figure it out, they thought it was electrical. Long story short, ended up doing some research on it, and found out that it was probably my brake switch, come to find out the little rubber piece that is on the back of the pedal that helps engage the brake light switch had gotten old deteriorated and fell apart. Had to replace both the brake light switch and that rubber piece. If I remember right the switch was like 10 at autozone and the rubber piece was a few bucks at Honda. Hope this helps
Yep, that little plastic bumper eventually dries out and cracks apart.
