The best halogen bulbs available for your application are HIR 9012 bulbs. They fit in place of the 9006 low beams after triming a tab on the bulb base. The filament is in the same position as 9006 bulbs so they do not glare other drivers like you would get with a plug and play HID kit. However, they are much brighter than a stock 9006 bulb outputing 1700 lumens compared to the 1000 lumens of a 9006 bulb.

9012 HIR is rated at 1875 lumens +/- 15% at 13.2 volts, with a rated life of 1000 hours.

Compare this to the 9005 conversion, which is rated at 1700 lumens, but typically with a life of around 200 hours. Sylvania Silverstar 9005 bulbs are actually rated at only 50 hours!

You could go with 9011 HIR's, with a similar method as the 9005 conversion, and get 2500 lumens at 13.2 volts, but life would be less than 250 hours.

Where would I find these bulbs and do you have to worry about melting with that much power?

Certain John Deere tractors use HIR bulbs and so you can order them from a dealer if one is close by. It is part number AH211917.

9012 HIR bulbs draw the same 55 watts as your current bulbs do so there won't be a chance of ruining your wiring or overheating.

Shouldn't be an issue as long as they're used in a projector headlight with the cutoff beam to keep it from glaring out into space.

I ran with the 9005 conversion for a couple of years before going HID and I never had a problem.

HIR bulbs should not glare as they locate the bulb filament in the same exact position as 9006 bulbs. It is only when you change bulb types (i.e. between an axial and a traverse filament bulb or when you switch from a halogen bulb to an HID burner) that glare occurs.
