Default Ballast Help

I'm thinking of upgrading to HIDs in my 2008 civic hybrid which will include TSX projectors with a lexus ballast, etc. I spoke to the dealership today and the only info they gave me was that the hybrid headlights operate at 12V. I'm sure that's the same for standard civics. However, do I need to know more about my stock halogen headlights to see if matches up to the power required by the ballast? Where can I find specs about the lexus ballast? Should I use another ballast instead? Thanks everyone.

you can use any type of ballast you want just as long as it'll work with the bulbs you use with the projectors. Since you're wanting to use TSX projectors, you can use any ballast that has D2S/D2R connectors so that it'll power up the bulbs

Why does it have to be the lexus ballast? Hella gen 3 or matsushita gen 3 are great ballasts, denso (lexus) are good too but I cant think of a reason to get them specifically over the others.

My friend recommended it and I'm not familiar with the others. Have you worked with them? Are they better for long run and using less power in startup?

Any OEM ballast is fine, I like the matsushitas the best.

Because I have yet to see the engine compartment of a civic hybrid and whether there's room or the system used there is alot different or not different at all.
Hybrids are different than your regular fuel-thirsty car. Electrical system alot is different but the rest i wanted to see how much of a difference there is.
Again, you shouldn't really say anything if you don't know about cars and their electrical system.
If the electric system is different, then you're putting extra stress on the electrical power supply. The circuit varies from halogen to xenons. That's why lexus ls460h (hybrid) uses led, rx440h uses a special xenon electronics and so on.
Stable power vs unstable amp surge can kill your car
