ok here goes....

i have a 06 civic and i see alot of pictures of 06-08civics with a hid conversion with no real mod's done to the headlights other than installing the bulbs in them and then of course installing a ballast somewere in the compartment..

my question is.. what do you guys think about this? is this something you would do? does anyone know how bad it is without installing shields to block some light? is there any modding theyre doing inside the headlight that i cant see?

any info would be great as it seems like a very easy way of doing this... bulbs in the hole and a ballast with plenty of space under the hood would be like 30min worth of work wich is awesome

What you really need to do is get some OEM HID projectors.
Open up your stock housing and make it fit in there.

This is the ONLY way to do it right.

The 06+ civics do not have a deep enough bowl to minimize glare...

they are better than a lot of other cars, but the cut offs and alignments are all messed up... all the time.

if you know someone with a pnp kit in an 06+ civic.. have them place the car perpendicular to a wall.. 25 feet away from the front of the car...

the cut off will not be pretty.. and most likely will be alot higher than where it should be.

you want more light out of those housings... HIR bulbs
a much better choice of bulb, and much cheaper and more reliable - only made by toshiba.

if you own a 03-06 accord.. those have a really deep reflector bowl... and actually aren't that bad with a pnp kit... minimal glare.... but you don't have a 03-06 accord...
