Default Type s k20

Hi iv just got a civic type s k20 think a3 I’m wondering with it being “de tuned” as iv been told, is it de tuned from the ecu or would it be something else also is the ecu locked meaning I’ll have to get a p&p ecu you lot might think I’m being thick I’m new to Honda 😂

This post is not very clear... if you want quality answers, you should ask clear, concise and detailed questions.

If I am following you, you are stating that you have a chassis/car that is a "Type S", the engine installed in it is a K20A3 you think... which is rated at 40 HP less than the Type S engine... not "De-tuned", just less powerful. The ECU that you are using is programmed for a specific engine and cannot "adapt" to another engine... you need to match the engine and ECU associated with it. A tuneable engine management system can be programmed (Tuned) to run either engine properly, so this is the best solution for making your car run correctly.
