Default Some one help with k20a3!

Ok so I can get my hands on a cheap k20a3 swap. I know from reading that this is the crap motor of the k world, (I am a b man myself) but if its cheap it mY BE worth my time for my dd. anywho do you guys thinnk that if i use that head and trans and harness and ecu with a k24 block crank and rods with the k20a3 pistions that should put me at about 11.1 /1 comp and with an afc i should be goldin right?

I do know that the header will have to be aftermarket beause of the fire wall. In reading the link you sent it seems only to be the best bang for the buck to do what I was saying. The k24 with its long stroke and high trq would match up well with the low rpm of the k20a3 heads. The aftermaket cams for the a3 is on a low rpm base for the power band so i would not need to spin it out to make power . The stock bottom end in the 24 would have to high of a pistion travel speed if I used the way more pricey a2 head that makes its power in the higher rpm band , having trq from the longer stroke and the head flowing while rasing the c/r to make more power should work with the 5 speed of the trans so it doesint fall out of vtec.
what you think?

sounds like a plan. there is alot of reading though before doing anything.
i heard people are using s2000 heads on k series motor and vice versa.
and s2000 motors to kseries trannies. (adapter) like h2b but f2k.
for me im try to find a k24 bore to 2.6 and forged pistons and rods with lower compression like 10-11.1ish . alot of people are doing over 12cr.
then whatever head i can find. type r or s or si head. and see what happens.
www.k20.org has alot of info though.

Like i said I am a b series boy built turbo r so i dont know much but sounds like you have a plan going and thanks for the info it deff helped. unless I read it incorrectly the bore on the k24 is one milll larger than the k2oa3 so i could not use the a3s pistions to get to my 11.1 comp ratio that i am looking for ? does anyone have any know how on this or am i the only dumb *** trying to put a large amount of random parts form misc hondas and go fast on the cheap? and do it right the first time that part is key

yes the k24 has a 1mm bigger piston then the k20 blocks. people are using after market or s2000 pistons. theres a load of options out there that im seeing.
you shoudl buy that built k24 with the yellow valve cover on ebay. if i had my turbo gsr stuff all sold and had the $ i would be buying it.

true. but i think it was new. but anyways there is a guy named nikos on H-T and
www.k20a.org he sells made to order crate motors/heads etc.
i thought about just finding a k24 and a vtec head and go from there and do it myself stock blck with stock head. but its real hard to find that stuf around here.
