I bought some sprigs and retainers for my k20a2, the place that sold me them seemed insistent that I do the seats too? I thought I could leave the seats as it's an a2 and already has a DVS seat, unlike the a3/tsx. Also am I able to use my stock keepers? I don't know what year a2 it is, as I bought it off "some guy". The pack of retainers said 04 or earlier keepers with a 7* angle are to be used, i'm assuming all k20a2 keeps are 7*?.

Only 2002-2004 k20a2 keepers are 7 degree. You MUST use the 02-04 style keepers. Not too sure on the seats, I have a TSX setup so I swapped over to all supertech stuff

 

Only very early production k20a2s had dual springs and thus dual spring seats. If you're not sure, get the seats.

 

Thanks for the confirmation. I'll be ok then seeing as the 05 was the start for the z1, and mine is an a2.

is there any way to confirm, if they're not the seat would look like the a3/tsx seat right, or more simply once I pull them all out and(if) they're not all DVS would that be proper confirmation,

 

Pull valve cover and see if you have dual valve springs or not.

HPT has a nice valve spring tool that you can use to do it yourself. It's pretty easy to use and quick

 

Sorry, meant the spring SEAT it's self, I have a good tool for doing the springs/retainers.
