Icon5 thinking of building a Honda

*looking for advice somebody school me !****. whats up Honda fam I have to start with saying I had a 00 EK slammed civic with little camber . I ended up getting rid of it because it did not shift pass 5k rpm. my dad was pissed I bought a pos so he made me junk it :/ I lost 1650... anyway I'm looking to BUILD one this time. I currently own a lifted jeep (Jku) so I don't know much but I am researching engines and such. SO here is what I'm looking to do! this build is intended for (Mexico) street racing ..with that being said I am looking for a light Honda mostly looking at 93-00 civics I prefer coupes but I found out hatches actually weigh less. for example if I were to buy a 00 civic coupe whats the best motor/trans swap? and Im looking to turbo it ! I don't want no d series I was thinking b18 with v tech or k20 (I know prices are complete different)

my budget - 2,500 on the car it self , I am looking to put an extra 1,500 into it (turbo or other suspension mods)

so please reply and let me know what are the best engines/trans set ups to use and somebody go to in to detail about ECU's and injectors because I know nothing of the two. I understand a chipped ecu is better for turbo.
(PIC ATTACHED IS MY OLD EK)
thanks my names Devin. if anybody wants to message me my Facebook is Devin Skater

Seems like everyone is doing k swaps now. So K series plus turbo if you want a respectable amount of power. Just, please, take it to the track. Don't endanger the rest of us for your personal thrills.

Oh, and $1500 won't even scratch the surface of what you'll need to go turbo. Not sure about the swap, but probably not enough for that either.

You NEED a chipped or otherwise programmable ecu for turbo, or even a highly modified n/a motor.

Yeah, you are a long way from a proper turbo build with $1500. You can probably source a B-swap for that. I would suggest going with a base model platform for whatever car you choose. No sunroof, manual windows, etc...as it will be the lightest.

thank you . And yea I have to save more for turbo.
How much would it cost to build the internals of the motor tho?!

There is a huge range for what it could cost, depending on quality of components and the extent of the work you want to do. How much power you want it to handle etc. And also depends on which engine you choose.

You are looking at anywhere from a few thousand, to several thousands plus.
