Skunk 2 Tuner Stage 2
Hi, I’m new to all this so you’ll have to bare with, I’m in desperate need of answers to this question I ordered a set of Skunk 2 tuner stage 2 camshafts to put into my b16a2
The engines been fully rebuilt
stock bottom end with new rings and Acl bearings
valvetrain has all new skunk 2 dual valve springs and retainers, new skunk 2 alpha valves and new loss motion assemblies.
we are at the point now of putting the sk2 tuner stage 2 camshafts in however we’ve run into a issue which there isn’t a lot of answers out there to this but are cam gears required? As I brought them to the understanding they were just drop in cams, check the valve to valve clearances and piston to valve clearances and that’s it, I’m not bothered about loosing a potential 1-3 hp but if I can get away with using stock cam gears on these camshafts provided the clearances are okay.
are these cams okay to use without cam gears? Any information is greatly appreciated
