I'm going to help my neighbor install a fuel pump assembly on his 2000 Honda accord. Someone had already removed the old one last week. Since it has to be installed in the trunk area and I'm sure the gas in the tank is exposed and building up fumes, this might be a disaster waiting to happen. The battery is disconnected. Is it safe to open the trunk?
