Default Replacing rings and pistons

I have a d16z6 and I'm needing to replace rings soon. I plan on swaping eventually but want to get a little more life out of my motor. Would it be worth upgrading to a little better pistons and rods or just replace them with stock replacements? Gonna do the work myself and spend as little as possible.

It'd be worth sticking with a 'stock' rebuild if you're planning on getting rid of the engine. Why waste the money on upgraded parts if replacements will get you by until you swap the engine?

You're right. Gonna try and replace just the rings if I can. Don't want to throw too much at it, would rather swap it.
