New to Honda-Tech
Hi Honda-Tech peeps, name is Carey excited to now be on Honda-Tech. Came across honda-tech forum several times when looking up ways to work on my 1998 Honda Civic. I originally brought 1998 Honda Civic LX 1.6L SOHC Non-VTech 5-Speed as a commute vehicle to and from work. I only own one prior honda vehicle in the pass which was a 1992 Honda Accord. When I bought my honda civic for $600, it was in poor condition but I seen it as a project car with good potential. I've had it since Jan 2018 and have done so much work on it. After driving it to and from work a few time, said to myself this car is too slow and need a wake. I decided to turn it into a honda civic turbo build project car. I started purchasing items from varies people back in the spring time and now I'm almost complete with D16Y7 turbo build. It's a d series engine and non-vtec. Didn't know or realize it was not a non-vtec car or that there where out series of honda engines out there. I've had a tuned VW CC 2.0L turbocharged vehicle few years ago. I decided to keep what I had and build something nice. I just today purchased hondata s300 v3 for my build. Can't wait to get it tuned.
Had a few questions:
1: How can I find out what type of piston and rods are in my 1998 Honda Civic LX? Was told mostly like vitara piston as this come as a oem part in my year and series honda. Let me know where I can find this information?
2. I'm putting a D16Z6 intake manifold onto my D16Y7 engine, what's parts do i need or don't use for change over?
More questions to coming. Thank
