Hey everyone, I’m 25 and most of the cars I have owned have been Hondas. I currently have a 2018 Civic Si coupe and a bit of a project in my old 98 Integra ls non-vtec. My love for Honda vehicles started in 2001 when my older brother brought home a new car called a Civic Si. Man I thought I was coolest kid in elementary school because of the vtec roar everyone could here as I would get dropped off.
Fast-forward to 2011 after getting my license, my late father bought me a car, a 1998 Integra LS non-vtec. Despite knowing it wasn’t the coveted Type R, a GSR, or even a manual, I still loved that car to death. I still have the car and it still runs, after finishing college & getting a job my mom (with good intentions, I hope) kept pestering me to buy a new car because she was “tired of watching me drive that crappy car”, so being the smartass that I am one day I got home and asked her for a ride to a nearby dealership as they had called earlier and told me they got the two cars I was interested in inventory.
When we arrived at the dealership my mom was hilariously confused (for whatever reason she really thought I was getting a ford truck, and the Honda and Ford dealerships are practically connected) the sales guy had the blue Si and a black Type R. After test driving both I decided on taking the Si for a few reasons, 1. It’s a coupe, 2. It’s blue like my brother’s was, and 3. Even though I could afford it (not very wealthy or anything like that, I just don’t have student loans or debt) I really didn’t want to pay $46,000 nearly twice the Si price for something that wasn’t even close to twice the performance the Si has, don’t get me wrong yeah the Type R is obviously better performance wise but I couldn’t justify the price to performance ratio especially when compared to Honda’s own Si & especially its competitors
I joined the site because I have never built, modified, or even worked on cars before and I really want to keep my DC4, however I do need some advice on what to do with it, parts to get, etc. Thanks again to anyone who helps!
Love that Si in blue! Also from Texas. I usually work on my own car, but haven’t done anything crazy like turbo charged it. I usually like seeing what other people are doing to their own Honda’s
