New here!
Hey everyone, this is just my introduction. So a little about me, I'm 19, live in Louisville, Ky. I'm currently driving a 1999 Crv automatic and have big plans for it. I'm into video games, my car, comics, movies. Looking forward to interacting with everyone and learning more about my car as well as myself. Thanks for having me!
Plans for the Crv;
My plans for my Crv are mainly to Jdm the hell out of it. I'd like to lower it via Koni shocks. I'd like to get a new exhaust system on it(Probably an obx catback). and possibly HIDs or just higher output headlights. I've also plan on doing more cosmetic upgrades,no neon lights or anything like that
.
What I've done to it already are; Painted all the badges and emblems flat black as well as the grey trim on the side and front/back of the car. I've also painted the rims the same flat black. I haven't done anything super crazy yet as I've only had the car for about 2 months and only just started "tuning" it.
I think that's all I can say so far without sounding like I'm rambling. I realize that this is a long read and for anyone who read through it all I want to say thank you

I don't know about the turbo, I've thought about it. And I'd like to just get a little more acceleration out of it. Whether that be changing the spark plugs or putting in a new exhaust system. I feel like whenever I'm merging onto the highway I feel like a slug compared to my brothers celica lol.
Just a tip: bolt-ons like exhaust, header, intakes, etc. won't do **** for stock engine. There's just no gains to be made with that route. If you wanna spend alot of money for sound, then sure, but it's not gonna help you out with power.

1. Boost
2. Swap

Wow, that actually helps a lot lol. And I was thinking about doing a vtech swap if that's possible? Do you know if anyone on here has done that before? Also, do you know how much that might cost? Just a ball park is fine. On sort of a tight budget seeing as I'm a student and my job just now became full time until august.
Wow, I just had a nice *** thing typed up for you and the page didn't load...
It's vtec, not vtech lol. It's pretty expensive, so your best bet is to look on Craigslist. Look at areas around you and the area you live in. You can find some ****** awesome deals. If you want a FULL swap (engine, tranny, everything), and want it to be guaranteed to run and also have a warranty, order off hmotorsonline. That's the only place you should order a motor from if you do it through a company, unless you have a local shop around you selling one for cheaper. Here's the website:

You have a couple options if you want vtec:
1. B16A2 - Came in the 99-00 Si's. Relatively cheap.
2. B18C1 - Came in the GSR's. More expensive.
3. B18C5 - Came in the Type R's. Most expensive B series.
4. B18A1/vtec - B18B1 bottom end with a B16A2, B18C1, or B18C5 head.
4. B18B1/vtec -B18A1 bottom end with a B16A2, B18C1, or B18C5 head.
B18 = 1.8l = more displacement
B16 = 1.6l = less displacement

Wow, that actually really helps a lot. Thanks for the awesome information! Maybe a boost is the better/less expensive route? What all is involved in that? Sorry for asking so many questions, just trying to be a sponge lol.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Turbo's not cheap. At all! You need alot more than just a turbo. Just to name a few, basic parts:
1. Turbo
2. Turbo manifold
3. Downpipe
4. Intercooler
5. Chargepipe
6. New exhaust
7. Sleeved engine if you plan on making over 350hp. ($1k)
8. Rods
9. Pistons
10. Valves, valvesprings, retainers
11. Wastegate
12. Intake manifold
There's alot more too lmao. Go to the forced induction thread and check out the sticky.

Hmmmm The more I hear the more I'm thinking "Huh, stock might not be so bad" lol Thanks for all the input I'll definitely refer to you as more questions arise.
Lol. It's all in what you want and what your goals are. If you just want looks, nothing wrong with stock and some exterior mods. But just know that if you get into turboing and motor building, it's definitely not cheap.
