New guy from north of the border
Hey guys.. I recently picked up a 99 Civic EX (*) for a song, love it, wanna keep it for a LONG time, so I figured I'd join a forum what would give me all the info I need in order to do that
Already used some tutorials in this forum, so I figured this is a good place to be.
Technical level: Minor maintenance/replacement - brakes, fluids, electrical (as a former long-time VW owner I'm a master of hunting down electrical gremlins), cooling system, never done any major engine/tranny work
About my "new" baby:

Got her with only 96,000km (60,000mi) - was suspicious about it being so low but the reported mileages in Carfax were consistent.. So far I've replaced the pathetic "meep meep" horn with a Nautilus, replaced the deck (never had one so difficult to swap), done the front brakes (needed to drill out 3 of the rotor screws after breaking a couple of impact bits), done the fluids (oil, coolant - was fine but good for the peace of mind, ps - same as coolant, clutch - DIRTY, brake - dirty, transmission - ok but easy enough to change)
The body is surprisingly clean for an Asian car, has a few hail dings and will need a detailing.
(*) There is some confusion about the model, probably Canadian-American thing.. When I went to pick up the pads and rotors they looked up EX and gave me the larger size (about 3/4" difference iirc) which I only realized when I was about to mount the caliper bracket and then compared the rotor sizes
