Just one more...
Good day folks.
Just another new member saying hello.
A 2011 Odyssey EX l with 192k miles has been purchased. I wasn't even looking for a van when this Odyssey came up for sale.
But, it seemed like the deal was one that shouldn't be passed up. A running, driving, in one piece 2011 for $400.00? Yeah...that didn't take much thought.
Yes, the van does have some issues, but for the most part, the van seems pretty solid and has quite a few new parts, like brakes, radiator, cooling fans,T-belt service, re-man axle and some sort of links in the front-end. ( haven't looked )
.
One problem is an issue with the bank 1 CAT, the other is a persistent p0303 . An 02 extender was installed and that took care of the instant p0420 code, but did not
address the p0303 code. I'm pretty sure that the CAT is done, or close to it, so a new CAT is on the way. I did not expect that "tricking" the ECM into thinking that the CAT was working would have fixed the p0303 code. An inspection of the plugs showed nothing out of the ordinary. Switching the coil from #3 with another cylinder made no difference. However, this #3 problem must have been worked on before, and I say that because, there was a new coil in the #3 cylinder. That is as far as I have gotten at this time.
At this point a tell all compression and a leak down test is the next step.
I suppose the #3 fuel injector could have an issue, but doubtful. The VCM was still operating when the van was purchased, but has since been defeated.
The engine runs very well and the van is getting 17~19 mpg in combined driving, so there can't be that much wrong.
One last thing, the VCM will kick in every now and then. Anyone have any thoughts on whether or not the VCM could be the cause of the p0303?
Okay then, that should be enough info for the time being.
Thanks for having me and all have a great day.
