Default Introduction

My names Zaine, A little background of myself im 19 from Michigan. I always loved to work on cars and have gotten interested in performance upgrades and building a car. i bought my first honda not liking foreign cars being young and dumb but i needed something cheap, and good gas mileage so i bought a 2002 honda accord se 4 door sedan F22 A/T 179kish miles. I ended up loving the car and after 1 year of having it and 40k miles in 1 year. i was driving on the highway doing 80mph the engine started to over heat so i pulled over and shut the car off and right after that the head blew apart and threw my thermostat into my hood creating a hole so i decided instead of fixing it sell it for parts and got most of the money back i paid for the car. Now i drive a 2002 Honda Civic EX EM2 with the d17a2 A/T and i like it besides its too slow and its an automatic. Im looking for help on what to do about it. Yes it is my daily driver. I have thought about some ideas such as engine swap but it is once again my daily. and sofar on my short time here ive already read that a b18 swap is nearly retarded and a pain in the ***. Anyone have ides? im thinking a second d17a2 engine and manual trans (i know ill need shifting linkage) and building it for boost with a small turbo being i want it reliable still. My goal if within reason is 300ish+ hp if reasonable and unsure of torque amount. Give me ideas people?
