Intro to me
It's me, Zippydogman. I have a 2005 Civic & a 92 Accord. Both have over 250,000 miles. I am sure you understand why I am here. My 05 civic is like a Barbie doll car, it's sparkly blue with the air scoop on the rear. The car is so small I feel like a victim every time I get on the freeway and having a semitruck come up or next to me freaks me out. The plus side the car is fast and I can get out of the way, it has OBD2 it tells me when to change oil and all that is wrong with it . My 92 accord is my first Honda paid $500 for it 12 years ago 180,000 miles on it drove it about 2 weeks the TCM went out lucky for me my girlfriend is a computer wiz and knows how to solder and fixed it for me. Ran great, I changed oil, did tune ups, kept good tires on it, had to do the CV joints on both sides. Got a lot of miles and no trouble. I HAVE ALWAYS believed in preventative maintenance. Two years ago I felt I should change the timing belt. Read on how to do it - the book said it's good idea to change the water pump. I hate to work om cars but I'm good at it and it is hard to find someone that is honest and good so I did the work. Let me add I had just done a tune up, got new tires and the car was running great. I want to wrap this up by saying if you have a Honda with 250,000 miles or more and it runs good, drive it till it dies . I will pick this up on my next post , Zippydogman over and out.
