Long time builder, first time Honda owner located in Bensalem, Pa.
Recently picked up a 99 Civic dx. 5 spd.
I'm still in the planning stages for the build, so have nothing set in stone. Will create a build thread when the time comes. Always open to opinions, suggestions and comments. Look forward to the help and helping where I can.
Previous projects were a Chevy Caprice, Dodge Daytona, Cosworth Escort, boosted Focus, & Mazda 6. Had my hands in a handful of Honda builds as well.
Thanks. Still not sure on the platform. Leaning towards B18 or a H22. Not in any rush to do anything, this is a spare vehicle. First things first, get these garbage coil overs off that are on it. They look to be an ebay special.
The body and interior are in amazing shape. No body damage or rust at all. Interior is solid. Will likely make little change to the exterior aside from a lip kit and rims in the near future.

Very Nice!!! Are you going to put in on another set of coil overs or are u going to put in on spring? With that being said about you now knowing what you are going to do with it, do you plan to add PS & AC?

I will likely go with a spring. Adjustability from a coil over isn't something I really need. I currently have ps and ac, also something I don't need and will likely remove.
ahhh Ok I see!!! Are you going to keep it low or are you going to go with OME Springs?
Your car is nice I personalty think that was a good investment.
Correct me if I'm wrong but is that a mugen lip you have there ?
So you said you plan to remove PS and AC, do you plan to race the car or do you just want to remove it for a cleaner look in the engine bay ?
Appreciate the kind words. The lip does look like a Mugen but I cant say for sure. I don't see the branding on it that one would usually find from a legit Mugen product.
I'll remove the ps and ac for both the reasons you described. Lighten it up a bit and grab that lost power from the ac, and the overall clean look of a minimalist engine bay. I do plan to track the car some, but im not looking to make any major numbers. I'll be happy with 12's. Plans are forever changing though, this project may take a turn towards staying a fully functional anytime driver. Time (and finances) will tell.
Yes I know what you mean by finances, believe me !!!! I’m doing a swap on my 95 Ex and let me tell you.... money will defiantly have an impact on how far you get and what you can do. Well good luck with that wish you the best let me know if you have any questions maybe I could be of some kind of help.
