Hello, everybody. Yesterday I made my first ever car purchase: a red, 1991 Honda Civic Hatchback (2HGED6341MH585850)! It only has about 173k miles on it and everything seems to be in good shape, so I'm pretty happy.

I'm here because I have absolutely no idea what I can do with and/or to this car. I drove a Jeep (inherited, not purchased) for a few years and enjoyed swapping fuel injectors, lifting, et cet. So, I'm looking for ideas for the Civic. I'd like to add a cigarette lighter, because it doesn't have one. Is it possible to lift this car at all?

If anyone reads these introductions, my question is (and I'll be browsing this site throughout the day):

Is it still stock under the hood? The obvious thing would be swap it out money permitting that is. If you're looking at starting slow and working up then start off with a well branded manifold and exhaust system, bring it down with some coilovers for that little bit of extra fun through the turns. It really depends on what you're looking to get out of your hatch. Have fun with your Honda.

 

Completely stock under the hood. I'd like to replace the D15B1, but not sure exactly how to find a good replacement.

 

I think any engine you find will be better than the D15B1.
