Hesitating
Hello all!
My 02 accord DX with the 2.3 has recently started hesitating when taking off from being a a dead stop. It's very random and intermittent, yet has occurred in a variety of situations, warm/cold, a/c on/off, in varying weather conditions. From a stop, at varying amounts of acceleration, it'll reach 2500 to 3000 rpm and begin bucking, kicking, and hesitating. Staying at that relative throttle position or giving it more throttle prolongs the situation, letting the rpms drop is the only way to stop the bucking and kicking. It's so random that at the next stop it may drive normally or it may continue the hesitating behavior several times in a row. I've read several forums indicating an issue with the cylinder position sensor inside the distributor and also of a condition that exists inside the alternator that feeds back thru the distributor causing the hesitation. This in effect renders the alternator defective, even though it appears to be charging and operating normally. Have checked the resistance on the pins respective to the cylinder position sensor in the distributor per the info in the Haynes manual. Readings on the ohm meter where within the proper tolerances.
Any advice on which direction to go at this point?
Thanks.

Sounds like something you can fix yourself. No stealership.
