Hello + TCM Question
I just joined Honda-Tech and am happy to be here. I am a die-hard Honda guy. Now driving a 93 Honda Accord coupe with 256,000 miles on it. For me it's 300,000 or bust!
I recently bought a remanufactured TCM for my Accord. It failed immediately on installation, and I returned it to the company that sold it to me. I got charged a “Programming Fee” and was surprised at that because my Honda-trained mechanic told me the TCM for my (old) Accord is not programmable.
Can the TCM sold to me be programmed for different year Hondas based on their VINs? Can it be programmed at all? I'd really appreciate any clarity that anyone might be able to provide.

A car friend tells me a TCM that works in a 93 Accord can indeed be reprogrammed to work in different year Hondas based on their VINs. Any other opinions? I'd really like to get the facts straight. Thanks!
