I have a 2 door black 1998 DX 5 speed. I bought it from a friend with 169k in Nov 2012. I have put 45k miles on it as it has taken the duty of being my commuter vehicle. I round trip 75 miles 5 days a week, so roughly 19k miles a year.

My buddy had a lot of problems with the car burning oil. He had went as far as re-ringing the 4 pistons & rebuilt the cylinder head (lapped the valves, new valve stem guides & oil seals. the root of the leak was a little bit of all. He did a clutch, timing belt & water pump around 150k.

I have done a complete tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter) replaced a faulty coil. Installed a new radiator & hoses, new AC compressor. Installed HX wheels with fresh 185's. Also swapped the yellow DX tail lights for the white EX's off a buddies car that he had totalled.

Long story short, It's a great daily driver to and from work. It gets 43-45mpg depending on the commute. Can't be happier for a $1k car.
