Default Hello

I am in need of some advice/ help. My 98 accord with the j30 v6 has 225,000miles on the engine. What motor oil should I use with this high mileage. I am currently using a shell oil from jiffy lube.
should I switch to synthetic or just use back the oil at jiffy lube with a 3750mile drain interval.
I have in a k&n drop in air element and some irdium plugs.

Also I have some oil consumption issues as well.
The car tends to ping or knock. No matter the fuel i use regular or premium
I do a lot of stop and go driving in nyc. I tend to do about 50miles a day on average.

See if you guys and help a brother out. My mpg in the city is 17miles but I made a road trip to Boston and I was doing 25mpg which was really great.

thanks again
