Greetings
Not new to forums. new to this one though.
i reside in the central midwest in KC Missouri.
Previous and first honda was an 88 Si,that i owned for over 6 years.Bought it with 188K.
It was laid to rest on July 7th after the steering rack cracked in half and sent me and the rex into a highway divider wall at about 80+ mph. Needless to say it was totaled and fully parted down to the bare unibody.
Month or so before wreck I had a stock fresh and fully rebuilt A6 installed. To replace the original A6 that came in it from 88 that met it's demise by my stupidity for forgetting to check the oil level before i drove off. Melted a quarter sized hole in one piston, and froze its connecting rod.
I installed a Seibon CF stock style hood that replaced dented and creased stock hood that was on it upon purchase.
Skunk2 upper arms with poly bushings. Lowered on Tokico Blues with drop springs(not sure on mfg.)
Wheels were 15x6.5 Silver Momo Corse Rpm's with a 38mm offset. Fitted with 205/50/15 Falken Zeiz 912 H-rated tires.
Poly sway-bar end link bushings, and sway-bar mount bushings front and back.
Basically had to replace a few interior pieces with nicer condition pieces than the ones that came with it. Had to replace the floor carpet, and drivers side door card/interior panel. Radio/shifter console. had to do some moderate rewiring, to undo the very hacked and cheaply done wiring job by previous owner(s)
Also had to replace a lot of worn parts due to again cheap fixes, and neglect. Ended up replacing a lot on the suspension, chassis and engine components. also from neglect. Wheel bearings, rear subframe mount, both inner/outer tie rods, upper/lower ball joints, wheel bearings, complete steering rack, alternator, water pump, timing belt, pan and valve cover gaskets.
Had Diamond Audio M3 coaxial speaker system with a Kenwood Excelon Head unit.
My current Honda is a 91 Dx, EF or Civic HatchBack.
That is my DD. I purchased it non running for 400 bucks back in October 2012. it just needed a distributor and fired right up. With 247K on the stock b2 with dpfi, auto trans.
Engine needs replaced i have recently found out, either because it is old and needs a full rebuild, or possible cracked block. It loses 20 mph going up an incline with pedal to the floor.
Its currently not running, it just died on me on Tuesday, while i was in the drive thru at a local burger joint. on my way to work. brand new dizzy has about 3k on it as well as new main relay replaced at same time. CODE 15.
interior is overall pretty good condition, though.
Had some build plans for it. But, with possible recent developments of a integra i found for sale. if the civic is a simple fix. i might keep it for a DD and just drive it till the engine gives out lol.
Hope make new friends and gain new knowledge about hondas/acuras etc.
thanks for reading.
