Coolant reservoir boiling

So I have a Honda Civic lx 2001 and the car over heats and when I check it the coolant reservoir is boiling what could this mean? And could it be expensive?

I recently bought a high-mileage '02 Civic LX with the SAME symptoms. The cylinder head was warped from previous overheating.
It had to be removed & shaved. I used all new OEM gaskets. A LOT of time & money spent, but now the engine runs LIKE NEW! :-)
