Used this forum many times in the past for repairs and such so thought I should join. I have a '91 CRX Si set up for autocross (STS class) in the SCCA. Been autoxing for about 6 years and running the CRX for 3. Great car overall...handling is always a work in progress and I'll probably never be totally satisfied with it. Also occasionally co-drive an EF Civic set up for STC. Pittsburgh is home for now.

Very cool. How did you get into autocross, and what exactly does one need to get started? Is your autocross crx street legal too? Sounds like a blast

 

My first car was a MK3 VW golf and I just showed up to a local SCCA event and started doing it. All you need is a car that will pass their safety inspection (wheels tight, no leaks etc.). The CRX is still street legal but the high rate springs that are on it make for a pretty rough ride.

 

What about requirements for safety harness, seats, or helmet? None?

 

A certified helmet is required but there are usually some available for use at the event.
