Hi everyone. First off, isn't the internet a great place for info? Well, most of the time. Anyway, it seems as though there is a forum for just about anything. I belong to several motorcycle forums, a Chevy Pickup forum for my truck, and now I've joined here because I need help with my Accord. Actually, its now becoming my daughters car and of course it develops an issue. So hopefully I can find the answer here.

I have a 98 Accord EX. Its has 145,000 miles or so. Been a good car, but now it has a dash light problem. I did see a couple of other similar posts, but nothing just like this.

Primarily the temp control lights go out, along with the along with their functionality. The fan and defrost button doesn't work either. And the check engine light has been on for a while (needs some evap part) but as I was driving it it was dimming and then brightening. My daughter says this has been happening for about a month now (gee, thanks for telling me)

But then all of a sudden, they came back on and worked normally. With the dimming of the lights, I wonder if the alternator is going out, but that shouldn't affect the other light issue. Should it? I told her to stop at an auto parts store and have them check out alternator but she hasn't yet

Anyone else have this problem?
